Takenaka specializes in on-the-go, high quality bento boxes and frozen Japanese curries - such as the Wagyu Hamburg curry, and the stewed beef tendon curry. Created by chef/owner Shogo Takenaka of Kingyo Izakaya and Raisu Mama's Kitchen, Takenaka is a quick service Japanese restaurant concept cooking out of Coho's shared kitchens. Takenaka's sous chef, Daiki Ishikawa, was trained in Niigata prefecture in Japan, which is renowned for its incredible rice, sake, and seafood. Besides offering takeout and delivery, they're also a mobile restaurant with their food truck. The idea originated from a simple, humble lunch box packed by mom, but Takenaka strives to bring an artistic element to its bento boxes dedicated to freshness, top quality, and colour.
